One Horton Heath
Located in the vibrant Borough of Eastleigh, the site falls east of Eastleigh town. It sits within the semi-rural Parish of Fair Oak and Horton Heath, joining the existing Horton Heath settlement, stretching from Allington Lane to the north and the railway line to the south.
Steeped in farming heritage, the original estate is comprised of three farmsteads: Foxholes Farm, Fir Tree Farm and Chalcroft Farm. Today, the site offers us the opportunity to create a thoughtfully planned development. Take a look at the project brief to learn more.
New link road
In June 2020, we started our first phase of road building, delivering the first access roads to the north and south of the site, thanks to a £20.8m grant from Homes England. We will construct three new roundabouts on Bubb Lane, Burnetts Lane and Allington Lane and a new link road between Bubb Lane and Burnetts Lane.
By putting the roads in first, we can unlock the rest of the site for construction vehicles and keep traffic in the area flowing smoothly. It also means new occupants will benefit from the new access routes straight away.
First phase of new homes
We're moving ever closer to delivering our first suite of homes. Alongside the masterplan, we submitted plans for 393 homes in December 2020. The design will combine high quality streets with open spaces and green features, creating an attractive environment with a strong sense of identity. The plans are currently being considered by the Local Planning Authority.
A long-term masterplan sets out the key design principles of what we will deliver, how and when. These include:
- Building housing to include 35% affordable homes
- A new link road located between the new north and south access roads
- Significant new green infrastructure and public open space
- Extensive landscaping and ecological enhancement across the site
- New community facilities, a school and open spaces
The One Horton Heath masterplan will enable some truly exciting possibilities for the community, businesses and the wider borough. Submitted in December 2020 our Masterplan planning application is currently being considered by the Local Planning Authority.
