The Social Value: Employment and Skills Toolkit is a new tool that helps to enable discussions between Eastleigh Borough Council and its partner organisations involving support for local employment and skills initiatives.
The toolkit contains guidance for how organisations contracted by the Council can create ‘added value’ from the services and products that they provide. The toolkit enables the Council to explore different ways of securing meaningful and successful employment and skills enrichment for local communities.
As the toolkit is rolled out, organisations working with One Horton Heath will be asked to commit resources to one or more different ‘pillars’ of employment and skills support, depending on the type and value of the contract: New Jobs; Careers Education Enrichment; Employability Enrichment; Charity, Voluntary Sector & Small Business Enrichment.
In this video, Employment and Skills Manager Lea Hampton and Commercial Manager Steve Elder discuss the concept of the toolkit and some of the ways they see contractors working with the One Horton Heath project to deliver social value in local communities.
The team at One Horton Heath is always on the lookout for businesses to provide a variety of products and services for the development, so if you’re part of an organisation with a socially conscious streak, be sure to get in touch with us.
