Supporting future careers at
Wildern School
Volunteers from Wates Residential and Drywall Southern Ltd recently attended a “Practice Interview” session with Year 10 students at Wildern School, helping to support young people as they prepare for future employment opportunities.
The session gave students the chance to experience a formal interview environment, develop their communication skills and build confidence ahead of future interviews, work experience placements and career decisions.
Across the day, volunteers supported 32 students through structured mock interviews, offering constructive feedback and encouragement in a positive and supportive setting. Students were able to practise talking about their strengths, gain insight into employer expectations and reflect on areas for development.
Feedback from the school highlighted the value of the experience, with students describing the session as both confidence-boosting and helpful in preparing them for the future.
Supporting opportunities for young people is an important part of the wider vision for One Horton Heath, and we hope to see some of these students pursue future careers connected to the development and wider community.
