Upgrades progressing on the Hedge End Train Station Path
The path connecting Bubb Lane to Hedge End railway station is currently being upgraded to a three-metre-wide shared-use foot and cycle path, complete with new lighting for additional safety.Due to its close proximity to major gas lines, trial holes were made to confirm the pipeline's location. Mildren have been working closely with SGN to continue working safely whilst making progress. Work between Bubb Lane and the Play Park has taken shape, along with some vegetation clearance. The Hedge End station exit that connects to the local Pond, is being dug out next with edging kerbs due to be installed, followed by tarmac laying soon after.
The contract was awarded to Mildren, a Dorset-based contractor with over 30 years of experience, ensuring a well-planned, low-disruption approach. The project is expected to take around 8–10 weeks and will make the path safer and more accessible for all users.
Stay tuned for progress updates!
