Advance warning: Local planned power outage

Advance warning: Planned power outage

We are providing advance notice on behalf of Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) about a planned power outage in Horton Heath on Wednesday 3 September from 9am to 1:30pm.

This essential work is to safely connect a new substation and will help keep the electricity supply reliable in the future. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding.

How to Prepare:

  • Set your fridge/freezer to the coldest setting 12 hours before the power cut.
  • Charge your phones, laptops, and other electronic devices in advance.
  • If you have solar panels, please turn them off before the power cut begins.
  • Disconnect smart equipment and sensitive electronics before and after the outage.
  • Please avoid opening your fridge or freezer during the power cut to help keep food cold.

If you have medical equipment or special requirements, please ensure you have backup power available or register for SSEN’s free Priority Services Register at ssen.co.uk/psr or call 0800 294 3259.

If you have any questions or urgent issues, please contact SSEN directly on 0800 072 7282, quoting reference 241949.

Thank you for your patience while this essential work is carried out.
