One Horton Heath will set the standard for future developments to aspire to. The local area, and by extension the Borough, will become greener, healthier, and more prosperous, making One Horton Heath a place that serves the needs of the community.
Building on the approved plans
Whilst planning permissions already exist for a major development on the site a lot has changed since they were granted, not least the decision to purchase and self-deliver the development to support communities and improve lives.
This has resulted in the outcomes of the existing permissions no longer satisfying the ambitions of One Horton Heath and, as such, a new Masterplan has been developed to better reflect the aspirations of the One Horton Heath team and the local community.
By reframing the previous permission, challenging assumption and putting the needs of the local community and the Borough first we will create a connected community that offers space to live, work, learn and shop in addition to excellent community facilities and open spaces. The Masterplan is the guiding principles by which One Horton Heath will thrive.
The new outline masterplan divides the site into phases, each with its own purpose, but with a continuous focus on people and place throughout.
New primary school and community facilities
We are excited to be progressing with plans for a new primary school located near the community hub. Currently in the early stages of development, the new school is planned for the new academic year in 2025.
New shopping and play destinations will become part of the community hub - at its centre a new community building. We're still looking at the many possibilities and opportunities for a vibrant community place and are excited to involve the community in the near future.
