OHH and Wates volunteers support Random Acts of Kindness Day with community litter pick

Team members from One Horton Heath (OHH) and Wates Residential South came together in February to mark Random Acts of Kindness Day with a community litter pick around the local area.

Volunteers took an hour out of their working day to help tidy shared spaces along The Avenue, Chalcroft Way and surrounding green walkways, collecting a surprising amount of waste and helping improve the environment for local residents and wildlife.

Among the more unusual items collected were a tyre, a ladder, a children’s bike, pieces of artificial grass and even a doll, highlighting just how important regular community clean ups can be.

The initiative reflects a shared commitment to supporting the local area beyond building homes. Social value is not just about development; it is about creating positive impact, encouraging community pride and helping care for the green spaces that people use every day.
