OHH Artist in Residence – Simon Bray - Spring 2026 update
Our Artist in Residence, Simon Bray, began his PhD in Autumn 2025, working in partnership with Eastleigh Borough Council, John Hansard Gallery and Winchester School of Art at the University of Southampton.
Over the past six months, he has been developing his research into socially engaged photography, working with local communities to explore and capture the changing landscape around One Horton Heath.
As part of this work, he has been delving into archives at the Hampshire Records Office, uncovering a collection of photographs taken across Hampshire villages in the late 1980s and early 1990s. He is now revisiting those same locations to document how the area has evolved over time.
Later this year, there will be opportunities for local residents to get involved, with photography walks and workshops planned around some of these locations.
A selection of recent photographs from around the One Horton Heath site can be viewed here.
