Improving safety on Burnetts Lane: Works now finished

Works on Burnetts Lane to install a new pedestrian crossing, along with new signage and lighting near Meadowsweet Way, have now been successfully completed.

The newly installed lighting and upgraded signage are designed to improve visibility of the crossing, particularly during darker hours and periods of poor weather, helping pedestrians cross more safely and making drivers more aware of people using the route.

The final improvements were carried out in January 2026 and form part of ongoing efforts to enhance road safety and accessibility in the local area.

We would like to thank residents, local businesses and road users for their patience and cooperation while these essential improvements were carried out. With the works now complete, the upgraded crossing will provide a safer and more visible crossing point for those walking and cycling in the area, supporting safer everyday journeys and improved connectivity for the local community.

Please note: other works may take place on Burnetts Lane at different times as part of separate projects or maintenance, delivered by other organisations.
