Temporary footpath closures around One Horton Heath
Sections of six public footpaths around One Horton Heath are currently closed, or will be closing, to allow construction work on Foxwood Road to progress safely.
Hampshire County Council has put temporary closures in place on sections of six public footpaths around One Horton Heath due to construction work associated with Foxwood Road.
The closures are needed because construction work is taking place in the vicinity of the footpaths, which will also lead on to the construction site.

Which footpaths are affected?
Three footpaths are already closed, with these existing closures being extended:
- Fair Oak and Horton Heath Footpath 702
- Fair Oak and Horton Heath Footpath 703
- West End Footpath 3
Three additional footpaths will close from 4 December 2026:
- Fair Oak and Horton Heath Footpath 7
- Fair Oak and Horton Heath Footpath 8
- Fair Oak and Horton Heath Footpath 701
How long will the closures last?
The closures are expected to remain in place until spring 2027. The arrangements will be reviewed, and extensions will be requested if needed.
Alternative routes
No formal alternative routes have been proposed for these closures. Walkers can use Hampshire County Council’s interactive public rights of way map to explore other public rights of way in the surrounding area.
